What is a preview performance?
|
The first performance of every Mainstage show is our preview performance.
Traditionally a preview is a full performance that falls before the press opening
and is the last night that the director can make adjustments to the show. These
performances also have a reduced price to help build word of mouth. Tickets
for all preview performances are $21 per person. A great show at a great price!

|
What is an audio described performance?
|
We offer one audio described performance on the last Saturday matinee of each
Mainstage performance. These performances are designed to help our visually
impaired patrons “see” the show through an audio describer in the technical
booth. While the show is going on, the audio describer describes the action
that is happening on stage. That description is transmitted via a wireless system
that the patron wears during the show. Unless you are wearing a receiver you
will not even know that a description is taking place. We have a limited number
of receivers for use and they are reserved on a first come, first served basis the
day of the performance.

What happens if I'm late to a show?
|
To cause the least amount of disruption to the performance
and the other patrons, and to ensure safety, if you arrive
late you will be seated at the discretion of the house
manager. You might not be seated in your assigned seat
until intermission. In some cases, late seating may not be
permitted.

Do you ever produce original works?
|
Yes. The world premiere of Celebrate Home - A Broadway Rose
Christmas by Abe Reybold and Jay Tumminello was presented in
2008, Broadway Goes Christmas
was presented in 2005 and G.I. Holiday Jukebox by
Rick Lewis was presented in 2002. We have also staged
several original children's shows including
Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty,
Goldilocks, and Silly Goose. In addition, we
have presented readings and semi-staged productions of new
musicals by local playwrights, including Illyria and
The Ghosts of Celilo. We are actively
seeking original musicals
to produce in upcoming seasons. As a member of the
National
Alliance of Musical Theater, we have the opportunity to
preview original material when it workshops in New York.
We
welcome submissions from writers and composers. Please
call
first and we will let you know what to send.

How can I get involved with the theater if I am not an actor?
|
The Broadway Rose Theatre Company is always looking for
volunteers to work in the theater lobby as
ushers, concession workers, ticket takers and more. We also
use volunteers to
assist with mailings, office work, sales, marketing and a
variety of committees dedicated to helping the theater
grow. The Broadway Rose Theatre Guild assists with events
and hosts an
annual fundraiser. If you are interested in volunteering,
please call
503-603-9862.
